Spend over €70 in one shop
Since February 2024 the minimum is €70.01, VAT included, in a single shop on the same day. Ask the shop for a tax-free form with your passport.
Keep the goods with you
Unused, and leaving the EU by the end of the third month after the month of purchase.
Validate at your last EU airport
Italy validates tax-free forms digitally through the customs system OTELLO. If you connect through another EU country, validation happens there.
Collect your refund
From the refund operator, in cash or on your card, minus their fee. We plan the time it takes before your departure.

What is the minimum purchase for a tax-free refund in Italy?
Since 1 February 2024, purchases of more than €70 in a single shop on the same day qualify, down from the previous threshold of €154.94.
Do I need to complete any paperwork myself?
You need to ask for the tax-free form in store. We check your documents and assist you with the validation at customs before departure.
Can I claim a refund on luxury goods?
Yes. Fashion, bags, watches and jewellery qualify like any other goods, as long as they leave the EU with you and the forms are validated.
